Based on international trends greater use of generic products is anticipated. In the result of the policy supporting generic substitution and the related educational work, both the doctor and the patient will recognize that these products are equivalent with the original reference product - their equivalence is certified by National Institute of Pharmacy - and because of their lower price level caused by price competition they are accessible to larger masses of patients.

Hungarian drug manufacturers offer preparations in many indications on moderate price level. Controlled by state-of-art international quality assurance systems these medicines hold their grounds on the domestic as well as on the foreign markets, are competitive and bring cure to patients in nearly hundred countries of the world on affordable prices.

The welfare states of the European Union similarly to the United States are increasingly trying to control their medicine expenses and rely on low priced and therapeutically excellent medicines that had already proved their worth in practice. These processes favour Hungarian companies. Based on development results and market knowledge they can hope to acquire a stable market position.
